Thomas and his dad Howard are team bloggers and speakers on disability issues. Thomas is a self-advocate and Howard advocates from the prospective or a parent.
They have a different, real world look at disabilities, what it is like to be disabled, what it is like to live with a disability, what it is like to raise a child with a disability.
They are both outspoken advocates who are not afraid to speak their mind and take a stand that is not always popular.
Thomas and Howard speak around the state of Florida. They would be happy to speak at your next event.
Great Blogpage, We need much, much more of this type of positive information out there!!! Thanks, guys, and keep up the good work!
Carolyn
Thank you – Thomas and I are trying to raise awareness and make people aware of what is happening.
Hi,
I am writing to ask you if you recall the name of a petit, wheel chair bound woman with long hair who was an attorney in the south–Atlanta?–and was a famous inspirational/motivational speaker and writer and advocate for those with disabilities. She died a few years ago. I have a young friend who is about to graduate from law school and I thought it would be great for her to read about this amazing woman’s life.
Thanks.
Peace,
Liz
Hi Thomas,
I just finished reading your book, and I agree with you 100% on everything you say. Your dad brought me one of your book at Billy’s Cafe, and I gave him one of mine (The Unusual Tales of Matilda Marmalade). They both pretty much say the same thing – LOVE and KINDNESS never sees differences. God bless you and keep up the good work. You are definitely a man to listen to. With hope for our future. Peace out! 🙂
Thank you Lisa for comment and reading my book. We can make this world a better place!
Again thank you and please tell everyone you can about the Squeaky Wheelchair.
I have also lived with a disability. For almost 30 years now I’ve been fighting being confined to a wheelchair. Returning to college, I graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport 1n 1997. Not finding work with an accounting firm, I started my own business. In May 2012 I became a permanently retired Florida resident residing in Silver Springs. My passions are the outdoor sports of hunting, fishing, trail riding, shooting, and archery. Up north I was an advocate in providing outdoor recreational opportunities for sportsmen with disabilities through my not-for-profit organization, Physically Challenged Sportsmen of America, Inc. Due to the tremendous amount of work involved, I am hesitant to become involved with such a project in my new home state. I get around with a walker, electric chair, and an UTV to access the forest. Anyway, all best wishes for your success. Keep up the good fight. Rob
Awesome story, congrats. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you, Please tell everyone you can about the Squeaky wheelchair blog.
